Fresh Food Kids Discovery Tours

Last Thursday Years 5/6 went on Gundagai Woolworth’s first, Fresh Food Discovery Tour.  The children were taken on a tour of the entire supermarket by Kristie and Taylor.  They snacked on fresh fruit as they learnt about sustainability and waste reduction.   

The highlight was the behind the scenes tour of the cold chilled storage -15 degrees, the cardboard recycling compactor and learning how to market products appealingly through stacking/placing products to the front of the shelf!  The loadout dock was also interesting to learn about how many deliveries are made each week. It was great to hear from Sarah Winchester about the practicalities of working behind the scenes out back and in the supermarket out front.  The children loved asking many questions and even served a customer at the checkout.
