Dear Parents,
This week is our final week of Term 2 as we head into the July school holidays. What a term it has been with Remote Learning at the start of the term and then the transition back to face to face teaching. We are grateful that it has been an extremely smooth transition back to regular classroom learning and that the students have adapted so well to the changes we have faced. We pray that our community continues to remain healthy and COVID safe.
Our St Patrick’s promotional enrolment video is now up on our school website page. We will place it on our Facebook page shortly as well. Our school captains plus Lane (Kindergarten) and Eliza (Year 1) feature in our video. It gives a brief snapshot about some of the wonderful qualities of St Patrick’s School. Please direct any family, friends and community members to our website page if they wish to enrol a child for 2020.
Last week St Patrick’s School hosted the WR Principal’s meeting here in Gundagai with 12 regional Principal’s and 3 CE staff attending. The Principal’s were highly complimentary of our beautiful school facilities as well as the incredible view we have from our school grounds overlooking Gundagai. It was a most successful meeting. Many thanks to our School Captains (Asha, Sadie, Sam and Will) who welcomed the visitors and the Hospitality Hosts (Maggie, Will and Finlay) for their wonderful work in serving the food and assisting our caterer Ms Sharon Owers from The 3rd Bird Catering.
Thank you to parents for making the most of the opportunity to come along to our Parent/Teacher meetings throughout the week. It was great to see so many parents engaged in this virtual process of ensuring school and home support the education of all our students.
St Patrick's community extend our most sincere congratulations to Fr George on the celebration of the 10th Anniversary of his Ordination into the priesthood. We are so grateful to have Fr George as part of our school and parish community and extend our grateful thanks to him, for all his hard work and commitment to our school and students. Congratulations Fr George.
Term 3 will resume on Tuesday 21st July for all our students. Staff members will resume on Monday 20th July, joining the WR schools for a spirituality day with Fr Richard Leonard, via zoom.
Wishing everyone a wonderful restful holiday and an opportunity to recharge for Term 3.
Christine Baron
Principal
Another term has come to an end and what a term it has been! I think everyone is feeling rather weary and looking forward to the holidays.
End of Term Prayer
We thank you Lord, for this term.
For the challenges, the successes, and the mistakes from which we have learnt.
Be with us as we spend our time with family and friends.
Give us strength and courage to do what is right: to be witnesses of our faith.
Help us to be a practical Christian these holidays,
to appreciate what others do for us,
to give time and effort to help others.
To be peacemakers in our family.
Keep us safe in our activities; give us good rest and good fun.
Bring us back refreshed and ready for a new term.
We thank you for our classmates, teachers, parents
And a community that cares for us.
May we always be conscious of you in our lives. Amen
